The BRHS Middle School girls recently traveled to Townshend to play Leland & Gray and looking to end a three–game losing streak, and the goal was accomplished with a 2–0 win over the Lady Rebels.
The Lady Presidents got goals from Sarah Rumrill and Morgan Kathan, and the outstanding Black River defense of Tiffany Norton, Sydney Miele, Carrie Wooley and Jordan Collins and Ashley Rebideau in the net did a fantastic job in posting the shut out win.
Other outstanding efforts included Hanna Livingston at the stopper position, Kelsey Rebhan at the halfback position, Blakely Gilmore and Emily Chambers on the front live as well as Noelle Stengel, Gabrielle Miele, Hanna Vanguilder and Phoebe Tucker, who all contributed to Black River’s 20 shots on goal.
“I was very happy with the way the girls played at Leland & Gray today,” Black River coach Bruce Schmidt said after the game. “They were much more aggressive in this game and we played much better as a team.”
