SHS Bare Bones Theatre's Snow Child

This past weekend was a time of tradition and magic as the Springfield High School Bare Bones Theatre returned to the stage with three unique productions; The Pilgrim’s Progression, The Snow Child and The Santa Land Diaries.

In the Snow Child production about a childless couple who wished upon a magical New Year’s Eve for a child, Katya and Dimitri received their wish in the form of the “snow child.”

Ascutney Woman With A Big Heart

Millie Jarvis of Ascutney, tries to find reasons to get out of the house and be of some good other than her usual gardening around the property. She goes to the Weathersfield redemption center, sometimes three days a week, when there open and tears tabs off soda and beer cans for the Shriner's.

Holiday Trunk Show At Von Bargens

Cosmos Complete Undefeated Season With State Title

Folks, this one was decided early at St. Peters Field at Mount St. Joseph High School on Saturday afternoon, as the Springfield Cosmos completed an undefeated season by thrashing Windsor, 52–28 and bringing the Division II state championship home to Springfield for the first time since 1948.

Good Luck Paul, & Thanks For The Memories

As many may have read in last week's issue of The Message, long time editor Paul Larochelle has left the paper to take a full time position in law enforcement, a profession he'd been in many years ago. Paul will be sorely missed here, as he has been such an integral part of The Message for the last two decades. Several e-mails and phone calls over the past week have let us know that many of our readers will miss Paul also.

Woodland Clover Quilt Raffle

Raffle tickets for the "Woodland Clover" double/queen size quilt will be available at the Harvest Bazaar, First Congregational Church, 77 Main St, Springfield, on Saturday, November 1. Drawing will be before closing and you need not be present to win. The church quilting group will have more handmade items for sale. The Bazaar is open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Crop Circles Discussed At Springfield Town Library

Seeking Movers and Groovers

Choreographer and community artist Ashley Hensel-Browning is currently looking for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in an intergenerational dance group based in Springfield. Participants will take class, learn, and make dances with each other, exploring how movement can be used as a source of expression and connection across generations. Together we will create original works that will be shared in future dance concerts. Dancers of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds are desired.
