Annie is a girl who loves her job. Annie (a 3 year old Rottweiler) is a Wildlife Recovery Dog (blood tracking dog/ leashed tracking dog) licensed by the State of NH Fish & Game department.
Annie’s (and her handler Diane Richardson, assisted by Rob Richardson) job is to assist hunters in tracking wounded deer. While new to the career, Annie is very keen for the work. She is one of several dog/handler teams in NH who are licensed for this work (Robert Remillard of Croydon is another handler with a licensed tracking dog in the Claremont area)
Hunters who wish to ask for assistance in finding their deer can access names and numbers via the NH Fish & Game website www.huntnh.com and click on the hunting tab at the top of the page, call NH Fish & Game dispatch at 603-271-3361, call their local Game Warden or they can call Annie, Diane and Rob at 603-542-2828 (Annie and Diane will be in the Claremont area through Thanksgiving and then are moving to the Keene area). Tracking teams are not allowed to charge a fee but can accept donations towards gasoline, etc.
Helpful hints for hunters who may need assistance:
Be honest and detailed in describing your shot to the team,
Try to call in a team as soon as possible, While many of these dogs can track blood trails as old as 24+ hours obviously the sooner they are called the higher the chance of recovery
Try to avoid disturbing the area beyond the point you were able to track the deer to as much as possible.
Understand that the teams are not miracle workers and cannot make a non fatally wounded deer materialize and that sometimes even the dogs fail to find the end of the trail (although the use of a dog increases the odds of finding it)

Nice to see our noble rottweiler out there and doing what they do best. Working! WTG Diane and Annie!

It's wonderful that you're showcasing what great and versatile dogs that Rottweilers are. Thank you for performing this public service, as any ethical hunter is sickened by the idea that a deer is wasted or suffering.
