Loss of license for gasoline theft

The time has come to get a bit more serious with gasoline thieves. Legislation being introduced in the New Hampshire House of Representatives by Claremont Democrat John Cloutier deserves serious consideration in these troubling economic times.

It's difficult to head into the new year with a great deal of enthusiasm for the economy across our nation. It isn't good. That's about as optimistic as one can get. Anyone painting a better picture perhaps doesn't have a bundle of stocks or a 401k to worry about.

First it was revamping the mills, then Sophie and Zeke's and Sugar River Barbers breathed life in to the Brown Block, and along came Claremont Fiber and the expansion of North Country Smokehouse. Pleasant Street has added some new businesses and the work at the Lowe's site has resumed.

With 400 members of the House of Representatives and 24 senators, the simple math shows that means there are nearly 17 House districts within each Senate district. Some House districts overlap with two or more Senate districts and so it is not a perfect measurement.

United States 50 State Quarters Ending

It's over. Thank goodness. The United States Mint 50-state quarters program is ending. Now don't take this the wrong way. It was a fun program that grabbed the attention of 147 million Americans. It was also an exercise of hanging in there until the state quarter from Hawaii was released recently signaling the end.
